About

Hi, I’m Cece— and yes, I’ve done it all.

32 years in the classroom. Certified yoga instructor. Master’s in Mindfulness, SEL & Yoga. Mother of two, recent grandmother, mental load for my entire family and unofficial holder of approximately 47 other job titles that were never in my contract.

My story

I walked into my first classroom with a lesson plan, a fresh set of markers, and the completely delusional belief that my job was to teach. Twenty years with elementary students and twelve with middle schoolers later, I can confirm: teaching is roughly 30% instruction, and 70% everything else nobody warned you about.

I’ve been a nurse (Band-Aid distribution specialist), a book surgeon (beloved paperbacks held together with sheer will and packing tape), a spill cleanup crew, a friendship mediator, a lunch box investigator, a lost-and-found archaeologist, and the world’s most patient sounding board for parents who needed someone — anyone — to talk to at 7:42 in the morning.

But somewhere along the way, I also discovered something that changed everything: when I learned to breathe — really breathe — and when I brought mindfulness and yoga into my classroom, something shifted. For me. For my students. For the whole room.

I’m also a mom of a dyslexic daughter. And living on that side of the desk — as the parent, not the teacher — changed me in ways 32 years in the classroom never could. I know what it feels like to sit in that meeting, hear words like “processing deficit” and “intervention,” and go home wondering if you’re doing enough. You are. And I’m here to help.

I wanted to create a space where everything I’ve learned — 32 years of teaching, 27 years of marriage, and 26 years of motherhood — could actually be useful to someone else who needs it.

Here you’ll find honest conversations about literacy, learning, and well-being. Real talk about what helps struggling readers. No fluff. No gimmicks. No expensive programs I’m trying to sell you. Just one veteran teacher and fellow parent telling you what actually works.
